How can I ask my boss during a performance appraisal about what are the other areas/opportunity/responsibilities that I can take up within company?

What you and your boss needs to establish is your strength and weakness at your role,thereafter he/she needs to coach you on how to set targets for weakness in order to improve and also has to incourage or recomment you to go for various training to gain knowledge on what to do.How ever he/she needs to incourage you to vencha in to other departments and gain experience which wil improve your chances of getting promotions at work and not being stagnent in one place.

If I have a good appraisal report and gain the line manager satisfaction, it is easy to ask for more responsibilities and tasks by simply asking if it is time to be allocated with new responsibilities.

The ranking and performance of the employee shows his capability to do more and give more based on his potential.
