Contamination is the presence of harmful organisms or substances. OR Introduction of foreign substances into the food. Contamination may be physical, chemical, biological or allergen.

Cross contamination is the contamination that is transported from one source to another through a carrier. Cross contamination can occur during the handling, processing, preparation, cooking and storage of food.

Contamination is the presence of impurity,microorganism etc in a place... while cross contamination is spread of organism in atmosphere.

CONTAMINATION MAY APPEAR IF ONE PART OF THE COLD CHAIN WAS BROKEN OR A FOREIGN SUBSTANCE OR ALIMENTS WAS SWALLOWED ACCIDENTLY WIYHOUT TAKING ATTENTION.WHEREAS CROSS CONTAMINATION HAPPENS WHEN WE USE THE SAME UTENSILS FROM A RAW MEAT TO THE COOKED ONE.INDEED AFTER ANY PREPARATION ALL MATERIALS MUST BE WASHED AND RINCED CLEARLY USING AN APPROPRIATE DETERGENT IF POSSIBLE.
