Using/providing keyboard shortcut keys in windows/DOS is which future?

The character User Interface(CUI) is a means of communication between a program and its user, based solely on the textual input and out put. Where as Graphical User Intereface (GUI) is a visual computer environment that uses graphics, icons and pointors to make the computer more user friendly. 

Ctrl+O  combination is commonly used for opening files. You can press CTRL+O in web browser , office applications, and  third party  programs   to choose file you want to open.

Ctrl+O Generally used to Invoke (open dialog box) to select a file to open in windows and most of linux based operating systems including applications that run's on it's platforms

Keyboard shortcut are more benifeciable for professionals and no one can deny the importance of these shortcuts but keeping in mind the current market & user trends GUI interface is more easy to use for all users includind professionals & end or home users. But for steady & fast precise work, no one can deny the use of KEYBOARD shortcuts.

Cntrl+O is generally used in MS excel to open a saved file.

There are many other keyboard shortcuts being used depending on the application you run, for example in MS Word you can use Ctrl+D for format font, or Ctrl+Shift+P for fint size..

Of course .. There are many users prefer to use these keys that make use easier and faster

These shortcuts are already present in every Windows version in the file (Help) but some users see it do'nt need to use the ones!

CUI means Command User Interface where you only give command by typing and get response. GUI means Graphical user interface where you can use picture button as command by mouse, keyboard, touchpad, touchscreen to get response. According to your question in CUI also can use keyboard shortcut. so using shortcut key also a CUI feature.

You need to press CTRL+O in web browser, office applications, and  third party  programs to choose file you want to open.

In dos we are using CUI future, and windows GUI future, if I want open a new doc > simply click >file>open>and Select is GUI future . kb shortcut key is > Ctrl+O is which future ?
