What is the best way for someone with basic computer skills to learn basic Wordpress in a few months?

There are alot of tutorials available on youtube and other video sites. you can easily learn from there.

        Dear if you want to learn wordpress then the best way first you learn all basic syntax of PHP language. You learn basic syntax of php from http://php.net/manual/en/ . another thing then you do some practise on CSS as well as in HTML. because for creation of wordpress theme HTML + CSS both are necessary so. for wordpress structure you learn from https://wordpress.org/ ( official website of wordpress ) . other website you prefer for learn HTML + CSS is

learn by teacher, and do it practically at your own time but dont remain on the lesson, but go two to three steps advance by your own practice and the main help could be gained by the software itself or the tutorial provided by the good companies

in a learning process you should always go from less to more, so you must first learn a little theory about how the CMS work in general, then blogs are a type of CMS, then you can start in wordpress .com simple operation and test the use of the blog, however if you want to go further and customize themes and plugins you should parallel apreder html, css and php, a basic level and read a bit about creating themes and plugins to go by testing an alternative option is to use XAMPP or WAMP to install a local sevidor on your pC, download the package and install wordpress, there you can make more rapid tests that using it online

You can find lots of tutorials in Google or even at the WordPress site. This is if you are comfortable in readable instructions. But if you are more of a visual learner, there are also tutorial videos in Youtube you can watch.
