How to resolve internet problem on vmware when it is pinging from cmd but not working over browser?

Check the following:

  • DNS resolution, if you ping by IP but the HTTP is using name try ping with name.
  • Browser network (LAN) setting. Check the proxy setting and if accessing a local site check exceptions in the advanced tab.

Check respective configurations in VMWARE
