Go for a good bachelor degree program for a good Art College around you. After doing BFA give some time to your professional art practice. Do some group shows and solo shows and then give your self a break and do a Masters degree course in Fine Arts, it would be really nice if your study Art History and philosophy along with your Studio practice. I think in this way you will raise your competence level in a very strong way.

Educationally, studying the Arts to degree level. Classroom theory will lead on to practical work which will in turn "open doors" to sculpting. Your tutors and even some of your fellow "artists" will be able to point you in the right direction once they know what you wish to specialise in. Career wise the obvious one is to become a "sculptor" in your own right but unless you have exceptional talent it may be different to make a living. These days there are many opportunities within "model making" (which can invove working with clay etc) in the Movie industry, espectially animated movies. Very much the same in Advertising.
