It is really good question & we can't imagine what will be the next level of the automation will be as it is linked to IT levels so as much as we can reach with IT levels as much as we can move with automation levels.

The next level would be Wireless Control Automation, Using Bluetooth or Wifi Technology to communicate each devices through the network, We will be having routers with I/O modules. :)
