Storage of large quantities of hazardous substances entails risk for the population, the environment and the surrounding area. Spills of hazardous substances into the soil can lead to expensive decontamination processes. Leakage from storage tanks containing oil, gas or chemicals can be caused by the influence of weather on the external surfaces, or material can be affected by internal temperature variations. These situations could lead to a disaster. Periodic inspections, conducted in good time, can prevent such disasters from happening.

  • Prevent accidental leaks and avoid costly decontamination with regular inspections
  • Gain a clear insight into the precise capacity and volume of your tanks with accurate calibration
  • Assure the integrity of your storage tanks by complying with local regulations and the relevant standards and codes

These Inspections include

·         Tank foundation and settlements evaluation

·         Tank bottom evaluation

·         Tank shell evaluation

·         Tank roof evaluation

·         Tank access evaluation

·         Tank security instruments check

·         Tank environmental study

·         Survey of repairs

First-Article Inspections

Pro QC inspects first-article samples prior to volume production. This verifies that product specifications are being met and avoids unnecessary reengineering work later.

In-Process Inspections

These on-site inspections evaluate samples of your products selected during the manufacturing process. This confirms the quality of your product and allows any necessary changes to be addressed early on, reducing rework time and costs.

Pre-Shipment Inspections

During a pre-shipment inspection, our engineers verify that finished goods conform to your specifications.

Sample Collection Service

Inspections are not always the service that you need. If you need to ensure that samples for your evaluation, lab testing or customer approval submission have been randomly selected, Pro QC can help. With Pro QC's Sample Collection Service, we visit the factory, select random samples on your behalf and then we send them to you, your test lab or to any other destination that you designate. Since no inspection is required, we can offer rapid service at a very affordable rate.

In addition of above ,we have to check all weld joints.welding is very important in tank inspection. With the help of various ndt methods we can inspect welding. there should not be any type of defect, discontinuity, crack .we should be careful of material thickness also.

  • Ensure that the tank is completely clean and does not contain any unwanted material before filling.
  • Ensure that the materials used in the internal insulation of the tank are non-toxic in case the tank will use for drinking water.
  • Ensure that the connections do not leak liquids (outside, inside) the tank.
  • Check that the total capacity of the tank is the design capacity.
  • Ensure that the material the tank made of  conform to the specifications of the required material, whether the reservoir of concrete or iron or GLS, and conform to the dimensions and design thicknesses.
  • Ensure that the ventilation holes are adequate and that filters are needed to prevent negative pressure from discharging liquid from the tank.
  • Ensure that the fill and discharge holes of the tank are sufficient to supply the reservoir with the required fluid and discharge it during design time.
  • Check the filling and discharge valves and ensure their quality and conformity with the design specifications and ensure their origin.
  • Ensure that there is sufficient inclination in the base of the tank, which allows the fluid to be collected at the cleaning pipe area to allow the tank to be emptied during the cleaning process.
  • In the case of pumps attached to the tank must be sure the quality and capacity and conformity to design specifications and ensure the performance  and control system.
  • Ensure the safety system of the tank and the fire extinguishing system and the disposal of liquids inside the tank (in the case of the use of flammable liquids), and ensure the safety of pressure valves.

First of all The Tank should have smooth walls (welding must be good)

checking the leakage periodicaly

If you are using the tank for mixing or storage several products you should do the next few things:

  1. Cleaning the tank regularry
  2. Taking swaps from the wall to see the microbial contaminat
  3. Taking swaps from the wall to see the remaining if previous product
  4. Disinfecting the Tank

For both steel or concrete tanks the general main points are

1- No visual surface leakage.

2- water test was done according British standered.

3- the concrete has fair face without finising.

4- No hair cracks.

5- Dimensions are as approved drawing.

6-Any repair for tie rode or wel;dding was done with the approved materials.

Dear Madam Thank you for trusting me to answer your question. Any Tank has to be tested as follow: 1. Before testing, we have to know the following: # reason of Test. # Materials nature inside tank to take required Safety precautions including whether required breathing Cylinders when Inspector(s) go inside, or could be thourghly washed inside with water or steam. Also to insure using light source type inside the Tank safely. # Budget for test to avoid going over. # Available time to do the test. # Removing inside material to another similar container to sure it is empty. 2. Points to be tested: # Tank walls thickness "shell and 2 ends" using Ultra Sonic small Portable Detector # Inside and outside protection layer/ Film/ Paint/ Plating condition, could be done visually 3. Any corrosion/ Pitting/ Rust especially at Welding Joints. 4. If thermal insulated, then to check insulation material condition. 5. Inside Float, Accessories, LCs, PCs, TCs, Pipes condition and connections. 6. Inlet-Outlet Holes to be free and clean from any strange solid item. 7. No any electrical short on Tank 8. Tank supports to be level without damage. 9. If inflammable liquid inside tank then a suitable Shade over is required, and a suitable F/E Cylinders or Device should be kept nearby. 10. Inlet-Outlet Valves should work properly 11. If Tank is used to keep any Gas under certain pressure, then Testing Tank at 150% of its Operating Pressure is required using any safe gas or Air. All safety precautions have to be taken in this dangerous test. 3. Test Standard required: I don't remember exactly, but we can get it like BS, or ASTM or German DIN or Russian Gost STD or as per Manufacturer Std. 4. Test Certification and Records including fixing date for next Test. Regards E Basil Abdullah Ghantoot Gp Co, UAE Equipment Plant Manager 00971564742066
