Community management is all about building a comfortable zone where people can express their minds and thoughts freely and comfortably. It's also about encouraging people to voice their concerns, wondering, or anything they have in mind to create a common ground where we can all share our mutual experiences and exchange opinions about a certain issue, or simply discuss a matter which recently surfaced.

Just adding to what Duaa says, Be part of a community. I think social medium has a certain culture. On the social platform, we are all equal. This is why people feel comfortable tweeting to presidents, prime ministers, celebrities or any subject expert. For a community manager to succeed, he should be part of the community and engage people by doing and not by preaching.

Also, one should understand that social media is so open that anything you say might insult or hurt someone's ego so crafting your messages diplomatically is important. However, you have to be honest to yourself since you cannot pretend to be someone else all the time and also look genuine. You can only gain as many followers as you are worth.

( Note that i am an aspiring digital marketing enthusiast and looking for opportunities to work in this field. )
