Which network wired or wireless LAN is best in educational institutions?

If wired then what is the suggested network design? If wireless then what is the suggested network design? If there are two Floors in the building100 nodes on each building? Following points are to be kept in mind fast and reliable network with easy access to printers as well....?

HI, good question, As per my knowledge in educational institutions the best network would be wired, which is fast, secured and easily managable,  they are several misuses of Wireless network.

Wired Network is always better

Good day!

Wired network is the most faster and reliable rather than wireless network. Below is the basic and simple diagram which I suggested. You can use vSpace Client like nComputing. This can saves a lot of electricity and can saves mother earth too. Because system unit produces carbon monoxide.

This is only a basic example. You can modify this depending on the structure of the building.

Remember: Do not exceed more than100M distance from each node. If it so, use bridge like switch.

I think an hybrid network should be deployed.

An ethernet wired network should be deployed for the connection of the main nodes and if required routers should be used to separate logical network segments. You'll have the most reliable network structure this way. Gigabit ethernet is recommended

Because of the issues with wireless networks, it is efficient that wireless AP should be set up only to compliment the wired networks and easy accessiblility for wireless enable devices that are not part of the main nodes such as student laptops and mobile devices. This should not form part of the main infrastructure less the network will suffer.

I must mention that it's highly recommended that you setup wired network for up to100 nodes. I recommend Gigabit ethernet or at least FastEthernet.

As for Network printers. They are better off on wired segment. With the hybrid design, nodes on the wireless network segments can still access it fast.

IMHO unless there are other factors that I have not considered. I believe this is the best design

WIRED NETWORK, beacause the technicalities involved in it & its configuration provides more chances to learn about the basics & the more wider scenarios to learn about networking for beginners & also for professionals, moreover its more reliable & consistent.

Both are required. Wireless is mostly used by students on their devices while libraries and labs must have wired connections.

wired network is best because there asking for education institution  so there wireless is best because many students have own  device

Wireless is the best, considering individual desks for students, and improved portability. VLAN seggregation is very much possible. SSID based seggregation could also be implemented, to define control levels for various departments like students, teachers, admin, hr, etc..

wired network is best for data transmission there is no signal loss or intereption, but in wireless due to wall penetration or signal strength is less we cannot receive the data, there will a transmission loss

wired network is always best there are many reasons, but if you are asking for educational institution then wireless. because every student have own device like laptop, tab and mobile ect.... so they can use internet easily.

Both can be used but i will prefer wired network .. Reason is its faster .u can use optical fiber as fastest medium for data transmission. U can also use wireless system as per need in the network ...
