There's no one particular answer for your question. I guess it depends on the choice of whether you want to make a lot of money or you want to have a larger network of people. If I had to make a choice, I would definitely go for great pay because I would not mind having a moderate work exposure as long as I'm making good money. Since you've mentioned "moderate work exposure", I guess it's better than having a less exposure or no exposure at all.

Great work exposure>Moderate work exposure>Less work exposure
Great pay>Moderate pay>Less pay
Well, this is my optimized choice and it differentiates from person to person. It depends on what kind of life you want to have. Like I said its all about the choice you make.
