It will be better if you go through advanced courses in the areas of electronics, blueprint reading, mechanics, air conditioning systems, cooling and refrigerant systems, ventilation and safety protocol. You have to learn the basics of installing, repairing, maintaining and designing various types of heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems, and also have to learn about "green" practices as they apply to the field.

Try to find a work under an engineer who is working in any company. May be do it for free and learn as much as you can. Improve your networking skills. Communicate with people and find referrals.
