You have to be open minded and try to understand the native language of the people around you. Being bilingual has many advantages. I remember working in retail and I had to learn how to speak spanish because majority of my customers were from South America. It took a while but before you know it, I was the top sales rep in the district and I barely knew any spanish. I knew enough to get buy and still come out on top.
