A good team manager and a good leader both are totally different things. As per my point of view, the word 'manage'r and 'leader' are not same in meaning. A good team manager always good in HARD SKILLS like following company rules, running team as per SOP,IOP, QRG, Service level agreement, KPI etc. Mostly not popular person in his or her team. A good team leader always makes good combination of HARD SKILLS & SOFT COMPETENCIES. I already described above what is HARD SKILLS. Now trying to flash a light on SOFT COMPETENCIES. Soft competencies are to have a good understanding and good managing power on employees emotions, weakness, strengths, hobbies, habits, cultures etc. A good team manager always creates his followers. And a good team leader always creates another good leader. Now company job nature will decide, whether she need a good team manager or a good team leader.
