How do you re size your server hard disk in Windows 2008 server with out any third party software?

Go to disk mangment.
Right click the drive.
Select shrink or expan volume.
Enter the no of MB's you want to shrink/expand.
And click OK.
Wait for some time and you are done.
For advanced operations you need third party solutions which are Partation Magic, paragon partation manager, acronis disk director and many more.

I did that before and I lost the OS

 

- you must1st make a backup of your data [ all the hard drive data ]

- you must2nd make a backup for MBR

- then try to shrink or resize partations

 

observe

partation table in MBR are so sensetive

from control panle from partion you can resize partion

before doing the partition have to backup of old data using external hdd because  data may get loss , after taking the backup using disk management by shirk method can partition the hdd 

disk managment from server manager then click "shrink"

Must take the backup of the specified harddisk and using extend / shrink partition option in Disk management to resize or reduce
