Why primary data are not useful in the hospital except secondary data?

Generally you do not need to collect primary data in hospitals because secondary data are already collected from patients for the purpose of management. So you can save your time, effort and resources and use these secondary data in your research provided that:

1.       They are complete with no missing items

2.       They are of quality i.e. accurate with no mistakes

3.       They fulfill your objectives i.e. the variables that you need to answer you research questions are already collected in the patient’s records.

 

If any of these conditions is present, primary data is then “useful” for your research
