Transport mode switch not participate in vtp domain updates but it can forward the updates through it.any vlan configuration add/delete/modify when switch in transporant mode which will not affect the rest of the switches connected in network.For more detail about modes please go through http://www.firewall.cx/networking-topics/vlan-networks/virtual-trunk-protocol/223-vtp-introduction.html

you can create modify and delete VLANs on a switch in this mode and VTP server and client can still communicate through VTP transparent switch and operate correctly
