Democracy is a commonly misused word. The definition is government of the people, by the people and for the people. but in real sense people are not equal : Some are literate , some are illiterate, some are weak , some are strong, some are knowledgeable and some are not, some are underprivileged and some are not, so the term people is not just the head count....as taken by the country or law makers. 

The real democracy is the council of people who are enlightened with knowledge and wisdom and are unbiased towards anything who for the betterment of the people sacrifice everything and provide equal opportunity for all to grow in their own way but within the set disciplinary laws. 

 

  

Government of the people, by the people, for the people.

Looks perfect in words. However, to succeed, democracy needs education, civic sense, compassion, philanthropy , welfare, justice, and unbiased non racist people.

it cannot be super-imposed by hook or crook on any country. Some countries are made by dictatorship, some by democracy. What the world truly needs, is global access for all. So, we can choose to live freely in our version of government from different choices around the world.

Democracy is a political system where the people think they have a vote. They delegate powers for some years to the political leaders who made decisions which are not in the interest op the people. Democracy has no vision and too much democracy is killing the speed of progress and slow downs the wealth.

According the new English Dictionary ( it is my Dictionary) DEMO is the shortest form of Demonstration and CRACY Rule or Gov't ( Greek). When they come together it gives a meaning of Demonstration Gov't. There are lots of such gov't now a days in this world tuned by the westerns.

democratic organizations typically have the following six characteristics: policies are determined by a group of organizations, technical and job performance measures are discussed so they are understood by all, leaders provide advice to members in regards to implementing tasks, members are free to choose with whom they work, the group determines the distribution of tasks, and leaders try to be objective in giving praise and criticism. Goldman (2000) states that leaders using a democratic style of leadership build consensus through participation, but these leaders also expect a higher level of excellence and self-direction

Thank you for your invite . Keeping aside dictionaries meaning of Democracy for that expert opinions are not necessary. I fully endorse a very practical definition written by Mr. Mohammed Asim Nehal , EXCELLENT SIR , and frank views of Mr. William Sonallaerts, THUMPS UP SIR. I have nothing more to add from my side.
