The meaning of "Logistics" for a manufacture entails that all internal transport & shipping of raw material and finish products will revolve around one customer, which is the manufacture itself.

In the Service business the meaning of "Logistics"  would mean, that the service of transport & Shipping (air/sea) of raw material and finish products, will be done on behalf of a3rd party. Most common service logistics companies will include freight forwarders, shipping line & Air Lines.

Basically in manufacturing business you will cater to internal customers (raw material & packaging material) as well as external customer (finished goods) through logistics where as services is done to external customers only.
