To keep it very simple

Biotech products

1-ELI LILLY-produces insulin an harmone using recombitant DNA technology useful in diabetes

2-Biogenidec -produces interferon beta1a from mammalian cells  useful in Multiple scelrosis

If any companies try to copy this biotechnological products discussed above the products are called Biosimilars.

pharma products

1-Sanofi manufactures glimiperide a sulphonyl urea useful in managing type2 diabetes

2-Johnson and Johnson manufactures respiridone useful in schizophrenia .

if any companies try to copy this products they are called branded generics.

Bio technological molecules are complex molecules requires specialised technology .

Pharma products uses different chemical process to get the drug manufactured. These are mostly smaller molecules.

BIOtechnology deals with living matters to analyse and hence derive biological remedies such as vaccines, hormones, biomarkers, genetic recombination.

PharmaCEUTICS basically relates to synthesis of drugs artificially by manipulation of the structure of the component for increased efficacy.

Both combine together along with hospital treatment is what  gives patients total healthcare.

BIOTECH:

Biotech companies use “biotechnology” to manufacture drugs, which involves the manipulation of microorganisms (such as bacteria) or biological substances (like enzymes) to perform a specific process.

Biotech manufacturers essentially use those microorganisms or highly complex proteins from genetically-modified living cells as components in medications to treat various diseases and conditions, from cancer to rheumatoid arthritis to multiple sclerosis.

They focus primarily on research and development, beginning with the discovery of novel compounds, which then get ushered into the clinic for further testing. Indeed, the discovery and development process is often more lengthy, difficult, and costly.

PHARMA:

Pharma Companies rely on a chemical-based synthetic process to develop small-molecule drugs.Like biotech companies, pharmaceutical companies conduct R&D studies, too. But depending on the size of their resources, they generally have greater flexibility to either carry out those functions entirely in-house or license drugs from other entities, including biotechs, for additional development and potential sale.

I agree with previous answers. Biotech companies generally produce "biopharmaceuticals" that is, pharmaceutical products of biological origin such as hormones and enzymes produced from mammalian, bacterial or fungal cells cultured in lab. Pharmaceutical companies are your classic drug manufacturers who rely on chemical synthesis of medications. These days it is pretty common for big companies to have both sectors although they are in isolated parts/buildings.

biotechnology

is the application of technologies , such as recombinant  DNA techniques, molecular biology, genetics ...etc. using living organisms (like bacteria and yeast) or its products (such as enzymes), to manufacture pharmaceutical products such as antibiotics, insulin and interferon or to identify targets for pharmaceutical development.

the following technologies are commonly included in biotech

- fermentation - cell and tissue culture - recombinant DNA - protein engineering - monoclonal antibody technology.

otherwise

pharma

traditional pharmaceutical companies develop, synthesis or create derivatives of  chemical compounds to produce different types of drugs.
