Following Data is needed

1. Pump flow rate (GPM)

2. Desired run time (assume2 min)

3. Cut in Pressure P1

4.Cut out pressure P2

5.Acceptance factor which is the percentage of tank to be filled while P2 . Approx0.25 -0.30 (1 - P1/P2)

 

Multiply1 with2 (let say25 gpm X2 min =50 GPM

Acceptance factor assume0.28

 

50/0.28 =178.5 Gallons

Hope this will work

For tanks operating above atmospheric pressure ASME SEC VIII Div1 design calculations are  used and for tanks operating at atmospheric pressure, API650 and Roarks formilas for stress and strain are used.
