Reading and Writing are a link between language and knowledge.. if you want to write you should have a very good domination of language and for that you have to increase your vocabulary.. and the secret for increase that is Reading..

It is like a circle, more than you read, more than you learn vocabulary and language and more you can writte more.

So i think the good writers first they read a lot to know their own style of writing.

Thank you for the invitation to answer.

Of course, for how could you write good and fresh materials if you haven't much knowledge of a certain issue that you are writing about!!!  Writing, just for the sake of it without having any concrete "basis" is nonsense and redundant - that is, if want to write for others. But if you intend to just write without bothering to read - go ahead and write a diary - just for yourself to read.  Otherwise, if you present such material to a larger audience, I'm sure you'll have nothing but a boring stuff.
