I prefer symbol or combination because it is a universal language, logotype got some difficulties to read for foreign languages.
Logo is symbol of some message so it contain some interpretation and any organisation make it with different vision of the company it it represent the same. I like more wheel with arrows which saws we will work together and all direction.
Logotype. It sticks to the memory more than symbols.
I depend only with the typography. Because when i start to find a type of font then i got a new idea about the logo.
So i prefer only for the Typography.

Logotype. looks and sound simple but it takes deep interpretations in terms of symbols.

Combination of them is better and more flexible and adaptable
