The transfer floors are commonly used in multi-store buildings, and they are major structural elements carrying a number of floors. Normally the entire building,10 to15 levels, is carried by a transfer slabs.
It is the Slab / Beam from which picked up columns may be started where there are no columns underneath. So, it is a kindl of frame in which upper storey columns are directly supported over these slab and hence are critical and important structural members.
A transfer slab is essentially a beam constructed out of concrete and steel reinforcements that is created with a slab of concrete. It is used to transfer the floor loads to the support post and pillars
