Statutory audit is the audit of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, statement of changes in equity etc.). Statutory audit is a legal requirement done annually by external auditors. Tax audit is the audit of docs/information relevant to taxation. It can be done by external auditors or taxation authorities.
