Information and Communications Technology (ICT) can be categories into the following:

Software, IT Services, Web, Electronics/IC Design, ICT Storage Media, Electronics Hardware, Semiconductor Production, Automation/Control Services, ICT Distribution, Financial Services Unit of ICT, Business Process Outsourcing, Shared Services of ICT Company.

Many ICT companies employ no PhDs. According to research, it appeared that many of those that obtained PhDs degrees did so through part-time study while remaining in employment, rather than through the full-time programs.

Almost all of the companies that employ ICT professionals recruit  at experienced level, whether software professionals or electronic engineers.  Companies need more experienced people with a deep understanding of the business domain in which they operate, as well as strong technical skills. The issue is all the sharper because inward migrants with high-level ICT skills typically do not have the domain knowledge that companies need.

Some suggested that there should be a greater emphasis on J2EE; Some telecommunications software company suggested that there will be a growing need for software engineers with skills in SIP etc.

My advise is to research on the latest course, keep updating your Resume and upgrading your ICT skills.
