What is the main difference between microprocessor and micro controller?

Microcontrollers are usually designed to perform a small set of specific functions and microprocessor in a PC on other side, they perform a wide range of tasks related to the general requirements of a PC.And also

• Microprocessor = cpu

  Micro controller = cpu + peripherals + memory

  Peripherals = ports + clock + timers + adc converters +lcd drivers + dac + other stuff

  Memory = eeprom + eprom + flash

A microcontroller has a combination of all the above devices A microprocessor is just a CPU

Processor is the programmable one which do the work or process, what will narrated by programme. But controller plays a vital role in embedded as well as automation industries because it'll also do the same thing of processor more over than peripherals can be added also it can control the entire circuit or process very easily.
