I think yes; it is even more wanted, during initial state, to offer products at prices lower than cost prices, and make discounts to distributors so as to guarantee more access to goods by the customers, who will turn out to be loyal.

Thanks for the invite

Under-pricing may not be a feasible solution. Instead focus upon all four Ps of Sales &Marketing - Product, Price, Place, Promotion. Customer loyalty can be better achieved by aggressive After Sales Service Support, Customer Feed-backs, Extended Warranty, Exchange Offers, Buy-Back Schemes etc. that are also a part of Promotional activities.

Never, because if cost is the source of long term relationship, then you can expect a brake in customers loyalty and relationship as soon as you start making money out of him and he will become loyal to another low cost competitor.

Well it depends on the quality of the product to adopt what pricing strategy. It's feasible but not smart move to be implemented. As it can make the reputed one to be more curious to think in other terms that can averse Next stages. So, its in my view less significant to offer at cost price. Thanks for the eye-catching question that is just like sea what stirs beneath the hidden soul !
