it is very difficult to calculate by total shipping Line Globaly but the Question should need to be clear what actully you want to know.

There are more than a Lakh of Shipping liners globally inclusive of all types small, medium & large.
But the question should also be more specific that what exactly you want to know for ex.
which are the largest shipping liners operating in a particular region or something other...
