Pivot table uses sum by default and returns the sum of your data. if you need to count how many data or to get the average how can you change it?

Go to PIVOT DATA FIELDS

in VALUES field- click the item and  value field setting in context menu.

and select Count  to  calculate the number of data or AVERAGE to determine the.

Note: in order the view the two item field. Drag2 filed items in VALUE PIVOT DATA FIELDS

then select COUNT and AVERAGE for other item so that you can view the COUNT and AVERAGE.

Right click on in anywhere in PivotTable, click on Value Field Settings..., under tab "Summarize value field by" select Count or Average
