How efficient can we succeed with new product, even if the person has lots of experience,skills in process/product management with different products?

The process/product manager with différents products has a great experience with many types of products and services,this diversity can give him the ability to know many things about the process management and its strengths and weaknesses and this knowledges are essentials for a continued improvement,this diversity give him the ability to know many suppliers ,the experience with this suppliers can give him the ability to discover the new product and improve its characteristics.
