How do you help students to learn difficult vocabulary in english?

Examples, synonyms, reading, multiple choice exercises

I teach synonyms and antonyms to my students for better understanding of the words. Teaching words in different context also helps for the retention.

I have them use those terms in various sentences and incorporate them in their writings.

Spellings can be learned with the help of sounds. I always advise my students to speak the spellings of long words when writing. It helps to write without spelling mistakes and they learn the proper spellings easily.

Hard vocabulary can be learned only by continuous practice of using these words in sentences, finding their synonyms and antonyms. The more we practice the better we learn.

Best way is to divide the difficult words into small units, Such as "Because": Be-Ca-Use.
