Market Analysis Report you can make it either through system (Based o your oracle or SAP generated reports) as well as collecting Market Intelligence by either physically going to different retail outlets/chains etc or collect information's from sales/merchandise team & make the analysis.

As you have not specified the purpose (Each purpose has different ways of doing it) thus will briefly explain basic ways.

System generated: For this you need not go to Market. generate Outlet-Sku wise data from your system (Oracle or SAP) differentiate or classify below mentioned classifications in the same report:-

 A) Area Wise B) Sub Area wise C) Chain Wise D) Class wise (If it's Hyper Market, Super Market, Van-sales, grocery,HoReCa, Wholesale etc) E) Category/Sub-Category - wise F) Product/Pattern wise G) Quantity/Value. From this, based on your requirements like if you want to compare area wise contributions or retail contributions or category performance etc you can further analyze using the report

Market Intelligence based Analysis: Be specific based on the purpose of analysis. For example if you want to compare your brand performance against competition, Visibility of your brands, shelving, Availability, GAP analysis etc thus based on that you can either physically visit targeted outlets/chains or coordinate with sales/merchandise team to collect Market Intelligence.

If system report has to be also compared with existing market competition than you can also register with Nelson Data. You can know total market performance, Market depth & size, market shares, new competitor's, your company brand performance through any mediums you wish to have. (But Nelson is expensive)
