Sales is the end vale of marketing activities. For a co to survive in the long run say for a period of3-5 years ( for a new entrant) the total value of sales has to pay for all the production and marketing expenses and has to provide at least NORMAL PROFITS for the stake holders.

Marketing is an activity which along with after sales service leads to brand building so that in the later stages of the product life cycle we have many more BRAND FOLLOWES  THAN DETRACTORS.  This is the activity of creation of promoters so that they work like unpaid marketers of the firm not only among his friends or relatives but also in the social media.

Just make it simple.  I assume all participants have good foundation on the subject. In simple terms, Branding is part of marketing. Marketing involves so many aspects including Branding. Branding is nothing but injecting your brand into consumer to make as the first choice. Sales is the final call which needs to be driven by various factors and marketing being the first, foremost and pivotal aspect.

Thanks.
