In fire insurance the scope of cover is usually fire and allied perils.What are the allied perils?

Allied perils is additional perils that added upon request of the insured to standard original fire insurance cover such as the natural risks i.e earthquake , floods , windstorm ....etc and other risks rather the the natural risks but stand excluded from the cover by the policy conditions such as strikes , riots and civil commotions. However the insurance company usually charge additional premium to add the allied perils to the original fire insurance cover which is only fire and lightning.
