After establishing CBP to arrest the heart, crystalloid or blood cardioplegia is infused in to the aortic root. .They are usually infused intermittently with20-30 min interval time.some such solutions are developed which can keep the heart arrested without significant myocardial damage.
Long acting available formulation is Custrodiol. But we can easily formulate Delnido. Which gives a safe period of 45-60 min.
