Do you like to have an open door policy in your organisation?

.... or strict hierarchy where an employee has access just to his/her reporting manager (and colleagues at his/her level in the hierarchy)?

I support the policy of open doors, but with respect the hierarchy to avoid chaos and maintain time

Yes I do, but you must be careful with this one as employees can see this as a sign of weakness in management as some managers cannot turn their employees away and give them more listening/discussion time than some one else and this can unsettle others within the workforce who are not so confident to approach management

Everybody likes to have an open door policy but it should work in its real sense and should not become ONLY for employee grievances.

Such open door policy should work positively for improvement of the working environment in the organisation. It should work as an interactive medium with management to exchange positive ideas and create a sense of belonging.
