A Non conformance report is raised whenever there is deviation from the standard and specification. After raising the Non conformance immediate action must be taken. Then proper root cause analysis using deffined methods should be in place. using5 whys or fishbone diagram helps to find the real reason behind the NCR. In can be used in all field and all indutries.

NCR is a report from the client that for them not good for many reasons.
Yes, it can be used in the field of engineering. As an OPEN MINDED Engineer, we listen,check and confirm the report if whats the reason. In there we can already think base on our experience is this not really ok?how can they report like this?it seems the report is right, so therefore this is how we do it. Things like this will come out to our open mind. This will add to our Engineering field of expertise.
NON-CONFORMANCE REPORT
The NCR is a formal notification to the contractor that work does not meet the plans or the specifications for the project. Any item of work found to be deficient - out of conformance with the construction drawings and/or specifications - will be identified by the inspector on the non-conformance report as described in this section. Non-conformance reports will be included on the non-conformance log and tracked through verification that the non-conformance has been corrected.

A NCR IS THE REPORT THAT IS RAISED WHEN THE PRODUCTS THAT DOES NOT MEET (DEVIATION) THE STANDARD SPECIFATION FOLLOWED BY THE COMPANY.
IT CAN CAN BE ANY DEVIATION IN THE PARAMETER OF THE PRODUCT OR SERVICES
NCR is issued againt the non fulfillment of the requirements as stated, any deviation from the requirement is considered as NCR.
