I suggest that you prepare a report highlighting the threats and risks involved of implementing versus not implementing these policies.

You initiate the procedure, and share the result in your meetings with the management. The idea is not to push down on the policy head on, however once the practical approach is not feasible you have a valid outcome to discuss with the management.
