First, all the above answer is right. Msconfig command is a System configuration Utility to analyze all the application starting when computer turn on. it enables user to configure how computer starts and what programs or services automatically load each time the computer starts. According to me Statup and services tabs are most important form the rest.
Startup: allows users to disable and re-enable the startup items. The startup program is the main reason behind system slow. if the computer have been infected by a virus, most of the time you can find here. To disable the virus you have to run msconfig utility in safe mode.
Services: shows some essential services which started with windows. most of the shown services are form ms windows and security software likes firewall and virus scanner.this is why the quick computer turn into slow computer.
