Temperature of the ordinary air measured by the thermometer when it is covered by wet cloth or wick is called as the wet bulb temperature, commonly referred to as WBT and The temperature of the air measured by the ordinary thermometer is called as the dry bulb temperature of air, commonly referred as DBT

dry bulb is almost higher the wet bulb......the special in wet bulb in it's measuring we put a wetted cotton on the thermometer to take the water vapour

Dry bulb temp.
is the temperature of the Dry Air, measured directly from thermometer.
it is used for design of Air cooled systems.
Wet bulb temp.
is the temperature of the moisture content in the air, it is measured using a wet wick on thermometer.
it is used for design of Cooling Towers.
