An ideal manager knows how to lead, motivate, respect and trust his/her subordinates. He/She must be open-minded:( if a person does mistake, it doesn't mean that the other will do same mistake; if a person can't comprehend his/her instructions easily, he/she must repeat it and understand that each person has weaknesses too. Most of all, he/she must be true on his/her words - no promises if he/she can't make it happen...

The ideal manager, and I've had a few, works hard on my behalf, and looks out for me, seeks out opportunity for me to learn, work and grow, and deflects bad things coming from above her or him. Sometimes everyone is going to be unhappy with her or him.
should be team leader instead of Manager.
