What are the main characteristics of the IDEAL Manager? (from employees' point of few)

There are numerous characteristics or traits that an 'ideal' manager should possess. Though needs may vary according to circumstance, a few of the traits are required across board.

Among them are: KNOWLEDGE, LEADERSHIP QUALITIES, PARTICIPATION (to help motivate employees), COMMUNICATION SKILLS. 

Respect of juniors and staff members is must.

An ideal manager knows how to lead, motivate, respect and trust his/her subordinates. He/She must be open-minded:( if a person does mistake, it doesn't mean that the other will do same mistake; if a person can't comprehend his/her instructions easily, he/she must repeat it and understand that each person has weaknesses too. Most of all, he/she must be true on his/her words - no promises if he/she can't make it happen...

VERY FIRST & MOST IMPORTANT THING FROM EMPLOYEES VIEW POINT SHOULD BE IN A MANAGER IS =====       MAN MANAGEMENT  =========    

HE/SHE IS NOT SUPER HUMAN  SO    HE  MUST TREAT HIS/HER FOLLOWERS AS HUMANS ,,,  REST OF THE TRAITS COMES LATER ....................... GOOD DAY MR.MAYALEH

Very importantly a Humane, result oriented, pro-active councillor & should be talented enough to secure a pleasant working environment.

Manager is a theater Actor which play variety role in the company  

Sopporting, caring , and fair. That is what I wan to see in my manager.

The ideal manager, and I've had a few, works hard on my behalf, and looks out for me, seeks out opportunity for me to learn, work and grow, and deflects bad things coming from above her or him.  Sometimes everyone is going to be unhappy with her or him.

should be team leader instead of Manager.
