People management - Effective communication The Relation between the sender and receiver
Communication is important part of presentation it should be scientific, auidible and the reciever should acknowledge by participating in it or with a nod of head and at the end of the sales dialog or presentation you should take acknowledgement from reciever whatever you have said has been equally received and understood by him.
Some underestimate the personality of the persons to be communicated to: It is not the language you use which decides quality of communication but it is the consideration of the cultural background and experience of the person in your communication.
As an example you should use profit and loss language with commercial people, rules/law wording with legal persons and so on. The same applies when communicating with persons from other deciplines where you have to use examples from their environment. Civil engineers, electrician, and mechanical designers each have their own world they're living in!
If you add to that the multinational factors, you will be astonished how different communication will be. Britain's are gentlemen and might tell you a partial yes when they mean no. In Sweden you might get a rejection to an issue where all team members have agreed/approved individually but because they did not meet ALL in the same one official meeting where they see themselves in the eyes and say YES their individual opinions become approvals become relative and are considered as a recommendation or a preparation to the decision but not the decision itself!.
Need to learn more about these cultures...try reading the series called Xenophobes guides (see http://www.xenophobes.com). You will not only enjoy it but it will enrich your international experience and gives you a good tool to lead multinational teams.
My conclusion: good communication is the one which considers the language, the cultural specialties and experience background of each individual communicated to.
Effective communication is only achieved if other person body language seems to become relaxing, friendly and less cross questioning.
Effectiveness is about getting the right results which is determine by the ability of an activity to meet set objectives.
Effective communiation is therefore effectivey composed information that reaches its target audience and comprehensively interpreted to positively influence behaviour hence meet desired communication objectives.
