When a prospect is not interested, is it ethical to ask the prospect for a referral?

<p>Sometimes we call prospects and they seem to like our products but unfortunately do not have interest in taking. For such prospects, is it ethical to ask them to refer new prospects?</p> <p>How about those people who have no interest even in knowing about the product?</p>

Asking for referrals is always better with the customer after he has purchases a product and has got a feel of our service.At this time he will definitely give good referrals. At other time it does not materialize or the quality of the referrals are bad.
