If you are talking about a company, then my friend let me tell you you are not clear to your question. What does it mean by "SOME ISSUES"? I didn't get that.

But still my views on your situation is,(completely personal opinion, may differ from others)

First let us understand the role of any company head. A company head, may be the governing body, the CEO, or the MD, or GM, whatever we call the position, they are appointed or they have invested money mainly focusing on the business. Well does that mean the employees can not go to them with any of their issues? No clearly not. Of course the employees, workers have access to the head of the company. But certainly from other perspective, will it be good for the company to sustain in the picture, if their company head start and end up a day by solving quarries of employees? Come on, he is the head of a company, not a problem solving consultant doing job in the helpline for workers. That man need time. So until the issue is not that big, lets not distract him from his other important jobs. normally the procedures are there, so that each and everything goes well and structured.

At the end what you term as bureaucracy, I would rather term them as consultants. Though some people use their power wrongly, but as in a nutshell some one should follow the proper guidelines. but yes bigger issues relating to the company, which may affect directly to the company or a mass should be reported directly to the head of the company.

Have a bright day........:)

Dear isaac

Company have to work according management. Sothat we should be follow channels. There has one main reason, head have a lot of cruises work and his time is very pervious . If everybody directly go and discuss their problem it's not practicaly right.

I believed in a systematize management. So I don't agree on direct addressing of problems. Responsibility should be delegated well so smooth operation will be maintained. If responsibility is delegated, it is very easy to evaluate the process resolve issues if any.

Dear Isaac, you are right, at times we do face situations where we feel that an issue should be reported to the senior management and we doubt that our managers will act as a barrier to such information flow. In my opinion such information is of high importance, if I am the head of a company I will provide an option in our company's intranet for employees to report such cases anonymously. Anonymity is of importance here, firstly it will prevent employees from taking leverage of such information for personal gains and secondly it will ensure safety of reporting employee.

Thanks Pinaki for your response.

About SOME ISSUES, company staff know that reporting should be done through line managers. However, there are some issues that need an urgent hand that if reporting through line managers is done, it would stall the response time and remember in most cases its something that affects the company directly. On the other hand, some staff would like to know and feel that the MD, CEO or GM is approachable for advise when needed. Because at times, a line managers tells you something and you see that its totally wrong........at this point, you're at cross roads and there is a conflict of interest. Now, such a person needs help and advise, what would be the next option? Now that's where this question comes in..................
