Thank you for asking such a challenging questions. First I would know the employee background on integrity and professional background. How long he has worked with the company and if he had worked in other companys, what led him to leave, this will be guiding me to investigate the employee well. After through investigation and found out for sure he has sold the company property to the third party, first will create one on one discussion on the matter, this will help me learn his body language, reaction from the few questions I will be asking him. I will give him a chance of confessing, if he accept, I will give him a show cause letter,  stop him from performing his duties, take disciplinary action and surcharge him. or report him to the authority to charge him as the property is returned and he is sacked. For humanitarian grounds is to understand why he did it. Sacking will be my last result< people learn from mistakes they do and they become the best, honest and trustworthy.
