for a Professionally we can say primavera,but the choosing sometimes depend on the project required and the size of the project

I agree with the answers here but would like to say that the best software is one which is suitable to your overall size , average size of the projects , geographic diversity of your projects and above all and importantly the compatibility of the software to integrate with the other functions of the organization like estimation , procurement etc.
I have heard some people suggesting Sage Maxwell as a good software for complete integration but I am not sure. More experience based views are requested, please.
As my colleague said MS project and Primavera considered as a significant software in PM planning and control
But I add to them Earned Value software which it is more efficient in construction projects
