There is no doubt that every software should produce results according to the predefined logic. And if the software is not producing accurate results than that software is undesired by any client.
On the other hand it is very likely that every software has some bugs which will leads to customer frustration. So it is very important that the thorough testing should be done to remove most of the bugs before send to customer testing.
So I believe that software testing should be given equal importance because "No testing, no software."
