Vipul Ltd., is preparing its Sales Budget for the coming3 months. The Sales Department has given an estimate that Sales will be2,40,000 units, if the monsoon is good and1,60,000 units if the monsoon is poor. The probability that the monsoon will be poor is0.3. The expected Sales Volume for next quarter would be: A.1,68,000 units B.1,60,000 units C.2,16,000 units D. None of these.

Moving average of the current sales volume would be the base to find the expected sales volume. Other factors to include will be the market organic growth that is expected.

Sales volume is often used in cost accounting to identify variances from budgeted projections. To measure the sales volume variance for the period, subtract the budgeted amount of units sold from the actual amount of units sold and multiply by the standard selling price of one unit.
