In my experience, implementing software solutions in large organizations requires a strategic blend of communication, planning, and phased rollouts. I once worked with a team where we used a tool called Software solutions to streamline our software selection process. We started with a clear understanding of our needs, then used Softlist to find the best fit. We then created a detailed implementation plan, ensuring all stakeholders were on board. The rollout was done in phases, allowing us to manage potential issues effectively. This approach not only minimized disruptions but also ensured the software was well-integrated into our workflows.

I highly recommend to deploy the SDLC (System/Software Development Lifecycle) solutions with taking care of the security features from the beginning of the project and making it as a progressive elaboration during a whole cycle of the project.

Two different strategies would be applicable for in house developed product and third party product. A phased gate approach based on SDLC would be far more appropriate for in house implementations. For third party, before the selection, a short POC and large pilot would be highly advisable.
